Well, it's certainly been a crazy year, I think everyone can agree on that! Education has looked very different this year, and has occurred in more formats than over before- traditional, hybrid, remote, and homeschool. I've had the pleasure of experiencing three different types of learning over the course of the pandemic. I ended the last school year trying to teach PK2 virtually, homeschooled preschool for my daughters, and then taught 8th grade remote English this year from the comfort of my son's nursery, and then finally my own office space in January.

It may seem cliche or silly, but I don't think I would have been able to keep it all together if I didn't have the organizational tools that Erin Condren provides. This year, their new Teacher Lesson Planner and Accessories collection is sure to give you hope for the new school year, and with the new releases and AMAZING gifts with purchase (which you'll need to be quick to snag them), this is a release I am super excited about.

The all new TLP collection will launch FIRST to EC Insiders on April 8th, and be available to everyone else on April 9th. Sign up here if you haven't already to get $10 off your purchase, and make sure you turn on the EC Insider under Rewards. Navigate to Account-->Update Info--> and scroll to the bottom and make sure EC Insider is turned to Active!

First things first, let's talk about the gifts with purchase. First, is this gorgeous apple pen (this one will go FAST). This pen style is one of my favorites, I have a bunch with the EC Asterisk and it writes so smoothly. This is one you will hide in your drawer from those looking to borrow pens!

The second gift with purchase is this Sticky Note Pad with 260 sheets. It has a gorgeous and exclusive Rainbow Heart design along the side!

Let's start with the actual planner, there are so many more options this year!

Standard Coiled Teacher Lesson Planner

There's the standard coiled TLP this year ($55) that you can get this year in two popular EC designs: Layers and Mid Century Circles! I went with Mid Century Circles, but I absolutely love both.

There is also the Vegan Luxe Cover which is a focused TLP and is super minimal and fresh! The Vegan Leather comes in Black, Blush, and Harbor.

Softbound Focused TLP

Then there's the Softbound Focused Teacher Lesson Planner in Camel and Layers (colorful). I love how this lays flat! It's $35. The colorful option has turquoise edges! This is available in a July/August/September start.

Teacher Binder

The binder is also available in the Mid Century Circles design! ($55). You can get up to four characters personalized on the cover. The binder has a July start.

Accessories

There are so many new and amazing accessories this year!

New Too Cool For School, Ed. 5 Sticker Book ($15.50)

New year, new sticker book! I don't think I've ever said it out loud, but when EC started doing the glossy stickers I was honestly giddy. There's something about a shiny sticker that still gets me. It's probably a small part of why I became a teacher, this crazy obsession with school supplies and stickers. There are both fun AND functional stickers in this little book, and the cutest alphabet letter stickers as well!

Colorsplash Apples Deskpad ($14)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4722_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

Who doesn't love a colorful desk pad with lots of open space? I purchased an EC Owls desk pad waaaay back in the day and I still have it (coffee rings and crinkled pages and all) because I loved it that much. I love that you can use the spaces for anything and you can make it specific to your own needs and note-taking style!

Rainbow Heart Teacher Clipfolio ($26)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4719_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

I would not have survived this school year without the padfolio, and I love this new design! I kept my attendance sheets/rosters clipped to the front, and the interior I used for notes regarding students I needed to meet with in breakout rooms, retakes, reminders for myself about meetings, and general info for my classes each day. This is hands down so worth it, and if I was in the classroom this year I would have used it for keeping track of writers workshop, Socratic seminars, and small groups!

Notes from the Teacher Notepad ($10)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4716_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

This is AMAZING. I could leave it at that, but seriously, when you need to send a note home, this is absolutely perfect, and best of all, I feel that it's super non-threatening. It can be related to positive praise or corrective feedback, and I love the space to have a parent/guardian signature at the bottom. I feel like this was perfectly designed, and the only recommendation I would have would be to make it customizable in the future!

Substitute Teacher Notepad ($10)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4717_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

I can't wait to use this! While I have a specific sub binder, I love this for keeping notes for certain classes, and when things change I can write out a new one. This will save me time from reprinting and editing my current sub dashboard. I would slip this into a sheet protector or laminate so that it's always handy, and you can use this from year to year!

Teacher Snap-In Dashboard ($7.50)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4728_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

I have used this dashboard before, just not in the Mid Century Circles pattern, and it is a lifesaver! It has been so helpful this year with our even/odd schedule, so I mark A/B day for the week, and I keep my before and after school lists the same for the most part. I like to use the wet erase markers on this so it stays until I want it gone!

Mid Century Circles Mini Snap-In Bookmark Trio ($4.50)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4727_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

These snap-in bookmarks are great for quickly flipping to your lesson plans, corresponding checklists, and your monthly spread! You can use them in any EC coiled book! I like to use Washi tape to label them so that I can see exactly where I'm flipping!

Mid Century Circles Snap-In Stylized Sticky Notes ($10.50)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4726_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

If you've ever purchased EC before, you know that these stylized snap-in sticky notes are so helpful! I love to use these when I'm brainstorming my lessons and units, because I can easily move them around in my planner. I also like putting down recurring meetings so that I can move it from week to week if necessary! I'm especially loving the solid colored rectangular sticky notes as well. I am planning to use them to keep track of important reminders so they pop on the page!

Gold Star Stackable Bracelet ($26)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4724_jpg-1024x1024.jpg

This is such a beautiful bracelet, and because it is one piece, it can actually also be worn as a necklace! The story and thought behind this item is so wonderful, and this would make a seriously heartfelt teacher appreciation gift. There is also a Love is Golden version as well!

Blush Ombre Accordion Zipper Pouch ($14)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_4712_jpg.jpg

I'm going to have to hide this one from my girls. They spotted it immediately and think it's absolutely beautiful and so do I! I would definitely keep my dry erase, wet erase, highlighters, sticky notes, even small remotes, and maybe an extra mask in here! Basically everything I need to teach every day!

Rainbow Heart Coiled Teacher Record Book ($16)

There are two cover options for the record book, the one pictured above, and then the Teach Your Heart Out Cover. I saved this product for last because it's my absolute favorite new product. So many times I wished I had a separate record book for tracking data, reading conferences, any number of things that would be in a smaller book . This book is sized 7x9 and has 160 checklist pages in it as well as an All About Me and Events and Volunteers page. This book would also be great if you volunteer or are in a leadership position within your school and need to keep track of things such as dues, collections and donations, items for silent auctions and basket raffles, you name it! I immediately thought of PTO/PTA! This would also be a FANTASTIC option for LMS (Library Media Specialists), ISC's (Instructional Support Coaches, SPED, and Teacher Assistants!

  1. Hi everyone, I saw comments from people who had already got their loan from Anderson Loan Finance. Honestly, I thought it was a scam, and then I decided to make a request based on their recommendations. A few days ago, I confirmed in my personal bank account amounting to $15,000 dollars which I applied for. This is really a good news and I am so very happy that I advise all those who need a real loan and who are sure to reimburse to apply through their email (text or call) +1 719 629 0982. Before the School Year Begins...

I decided that before I can start posting about what I'm doing this year, I needed to share some of my favorite strategies from last year that went really well with the students. I was completely inspired by Kelly Gallagher after reading devouring all of his books at the beginning of the school year! I had the opportunity to go to a Kelly Gallagher workshop at Judson this spring, and it was absolutely amazing! He was so nice when I went up to him (I was terrified and starstruck), and even wrote "You're Welcome" on this piece of paper, because my students actually asked me to THANK HIM for changing the way we read novels in class.  Students + asked me + to say thank you to an author + about school stuff = UTOPIA! Here are some of my abbreviated notes from the day: His TOP Points: Kids should write 4X more than you can physically grade  Students suffer from word poverty. Must get students reading more in order to be exposed to vocabulary. We ne

Writing Notebook: Finishing up "Write Ideas" and first Invitation: AAAWWUBBIS!

Happy Monday!! Today I am continuing on with the Writer's Notebook! Last time I left off, students had just finished their "100 Things I Love". After that, students completed their writing territories, which I got from Nancie Atwell's book   Lessons That Change Writers.  We spent the first day discussing writing territories out loud, going through the list in detail, so that students had ideas of what to write about. I told them to think of it like the caption for a picture. One to two sentences that could become something more. Students had to complete this for homework. We also completely numbered our table of contents so that we could add in sections and start working in other parts of the notebook.  Students wrote their writing territories on these pages. Then we moved on to the Writer's Eye (I). Students had to place terms that described them within their "I" or around their "Eye". I created my o
